CAMERON MARSHALL

Photography Background | Personal Bio

Hey there – I’m Cameron Marshall

I live in Sudbury, Ontario and love to chase light on the vast networtk of trail systems and lakes we Sudbarians are fortunate enough to live alongside. Photography quickly became more than just a hobby for me—I began to realize it's how I read and see the world.

I got started back in Grade 11 (over a decade ago) when I was entered into a technology and trades skills competition that took place at the post secondary school I ended up attending a couple of years later to study graphic design. I walked in with a Canon T3i, a half‑charged battery, and a kit lens left to me the night before, armed only with the knowledge on how to turn the camera on. They handed me a task list of shots, a goal to tell a story, and I was in the deep end. By the end of the day I ended up in third place, and I knew then, I’d found something I wanted to stick with. That first shoot quickly turned into a self‑taught workshop in technical skill development, composition fundamentals, understanding light, how to tell a story, and improving my post processing skills.

Over a decade later and i've found my love for landscape and nature photography. Although photography is primarely a passion, I do shoot professionally when the correct opportunity arrises. That includes weddings, portraiture, and on location commercial photography for business'. As the years have gone on, I've dabbled with different sensor sizes, camera brands (Nikon, Canon and Olympus), and lenses. My style stays true to the moment: honest, relaxed, and respectful of the place I’m shooting. It’s all about how life plays out when you’re just wandering with a camera in hand.
